From Zero Local Experience to Building Australia's Leading Tech Skills Academy
When Noah and Tayo Oloja moved to Australia from Nigeria, they had impressive qualifications — two Master's degrees, nearly a decade of international experience in tech, accounting, and HR. But in Australia, none of that mattered.
Every application met the same rejection: “We need someone with local experience.” Only 3% of Africans work in Australian tech — despite the fact that over 60% hold at least a Bachelor's degree. The question was never about skills. It was about enormous barriers to entry.
Noah decided to crack the code. He studied what Australian employers actually wanted — the exact tools, frameworks, and positioning. He rebuilt his profile from scratch. Within months, he went from zero local experience to landing a Business Analyst role at a leading organisation. Then another. Then another.

He's been a career coach for 5+ years, helping over 1,000 individuals get ahead in their careers. With a background in Professional Accounting and Human Resource Management, Tayo is a dedicated advocate for change in the tech industry. Currently serving as a Senior Business Analyst, she brings real-world BA and Scrum Master experience to the academy.
